Being a native format of the WinRAR archiver, RAR files may be hard to handle if you don’t happen to have the right program for the task. RAR to ZIP Converter allows you to transform “inaccessible” RAR files into the more accessible ZIP file, widely used and recognized by most archive-related tools. This free tool offers you (probably) the simplest way of converting RAR (and other well-known archive formats) into compressed ZIP files.
The program’s one-window interface couldn’t be easier to handle. All you have to do is select the original RAR archive and click on the “Convert” button. If the RAR file happens to be protected by a password, you will have to type it in the box provided. By default, the program will save the resulting ZIP file in the same folder the original RAR file is located, though you can change the destination folder if you wish. This is the most straightforward and simple way of performing a RAR to ZIP conversion, though the program does offer a certain level of customization.
You can add a password to the resulting ZIP file, regardless if the source RAR file was protected with a password or not. You can also change the compression level – “Normal compression level” is the default, but you can create an uncompressed ZIP file and one with higher or lower compression levels. This is as far as you can go when it comes to customization, but I don’t think that an efficient, fast, and hassle-free conversion from RAR to ZIP would benefit from much more extra functionality. more
